Computacenter plc, the European IT infrastructure services provider is pleased
to announce the acquisition of Cable & Wireless Allnet Ltd, the in-premises
cabling services (LAN) division of Cable & Wireless. Cable & Wireless Allnet Ltd
has gross assets of £17M and net assets of £6M and the financial impact of the
acquisition will not be material to Computacenter plc.
Separately, Cable & Wireless and Computacenter have entered into a master
services agreement in which Computacenter will be a preferred supplier of LAN
services to Cable and Wireless in the UK.
Cable & Wireless Allnet Ltd 'Allnet' provides consultancy, provisioning support,
installation, support and maintenance to a broad spectrum of corporate and
government customers. The company has over 160 staff based in offices in London
and Reading, as well as at customer sites.
Allnet's skills and experience are a valuable addition to Computacenter
Services' growing Technology Solutions business in two key areas:
• The acquisition complements our existing capability in the growth area of
converged IP-based networks and related security and managed services, where
clients look to achieve cost savings and flexibility.
• Allnet is particularly strong in the structured cabling and facilities
optimisation market, where it is identified as one of only three 'Tier 1'
service providers identified by BSRIA (The Building Services Research
and Information Association.
