Computacenter PLC
04 May 2007
At Computacenter's AGM to be held at 11.00am today, the following will be
announced:
The performance of Computacenter in the first quarter of 2007 has been mixed.
We have made good progress in France. Although Computacenter France is not yet
back in profit, the run rate losses are much reduced and we expect this
improvement to continue throughout the year.
Computacenter Germany has performed well, with trading ahead of the previous
year. The underlying business results have exceeded our expectations despite
being held back slightly by losses arising from the two shared datacentre
services contracts, although these are much reduced on the second half of 2006.
In the UK, our services business has won important new contracts including the
five-year outsourcing agreement with BT. However, product sales have failed to
meet expectations and the overall UK financial performance in the first quarter
has been below that achieved in the first quarter of 2006.
Overall, we continue to anticipate that the full-year performance of the Group
will be in line with management's expectations but this remains, as always,
dependent upon the overall state of the IT market.
