CONCURRENT TECHNOLOGIES PLC
AGM Statement
At today's Annual General Meeting, Michael Collins, Chairman of Concurrent
Technologies which manufactures high end embedded computer products for critical
applications in the defence, transportation, communications and industrial
markets, made the following comments:
'This year has started well for Concurrent Technologies, with an upward trend in
sales activity in the areas of defence and communications markets and demand
for our embedded computer products in these and our other markets continues to
grow. This buoyancy in our areas of activity is enabling us to identify
additional opportunities to grow our customer base.
'Our investment in design and development, which in 2003 increased to over £1
million for the first time, supports our strategy to expand our existing product
ranges. In my results statement I reiterated our aim to expand more into the
area of wide temperature computer products for hostile environments which we had
introduced in the first half of 2003. Last week we announced an agreement with
Thales Computers, a recognised world leader in military and aerospace computer
technology, for the co-development of a new family of embedded computers. These
products will be available in commercial, extended temperature and rugged
versions.
'The agreement with Thales is complementary between the two companies and will
be beneficial to the customers of both Thales and Concurrent Technologies.
'At the time of our results, I emphasised the growing importance of our American
markets. To support our US operations we plan to recruit additional sales staff
in the USA to grow and service our increasing customer base.
'We look forward to another productive period for the company.'
