Product launch
Product Range Strengthened and Widened in Defence Sector
Concurrent Technologies (AIM: CNC), a leading manufacturer of high-end embedded
computer products for critical applications in the defence, transportation,
communications and industrial markets, announces the launch of its latest VME
based single board computer, the enhanced VP 307. This is aimed at defence,
homeland security, industrial, and transportation applications.
The enhanced VP 307 is an extremely fast, forced air- cooled product based on
Intel's 2.0GHz Pentium M processor operating with a 533MHz bus. This long
lifecycle product offers a very simple 'plug and play' upgrade to existing users
of current versions of the VP 307 and will have a higher price than previous
versions. The enhanced VP 307 offers very high performance networking, together
with an expansion interface that allows users to add their own unique
functionality to the product.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies, commented:
'Defence is currently our largest market and we expect this product to be well
received by our existing customers as it is a totally compatible upgrade.
Therefore it will be very easy for customers to integrate it into their systems
while providing them with more computing power and allowing them to integrate
their own specialised functions on the board.
'Our continual investment into product development, and specifically products
like the enhanced VP 307, is increasing the range of products available to our
sales force while simultaneously creating a wider market for Concurrent
Technologies products.'
