Current Trading Update
Prior to entering its close period for the year ending 31 March 2004, Creston
Plc, the marketing services group, issues the following trading update.
All Creston Group companies are experiencing excellent trading and all are
performing ahead of budget. Growth is being delivered both from increased
activity by existing clients and through substantial new business wins. The
Creston portfolio of clients now includes leading brands such as: Bang &
Olufsen, Bacardi Martini, BMW (GB), Campbell's, Canon, Cow & Gate, Diageo,
Kimberly Clark, Lloyds Black Horse, MINI, NEC, Pfizer, Royal Mail, Scottish
Courage, Tesco, Toshiba, Tropicana, Unilever, Andreas Stihl and Rolls Royce.
The Board of Creston therefore expects to report results on 7 June 2004, ahead
of current market expectations and ahead of the growth being delivered by other
organisations within its sector.
Commenting, Don Elgie, Chief Executive of Creston, said:
"Three years ago, Creston embarked on a strategy that provided companies with a
highly focused alternative to traditional mass marketing, one that enabled them
to build one-to-one relationships with their chosen customers. This approach,
combined with our highly selective acquisitions' strategy of resilient growth
companies and incentivisation of our employees, is what I believe has enabled us
to achieve and continue to achieve such excellent results. Whilst the market is
showing signs of recovery, our performance has demonstrated our ability to build
a business in the most difficult of climates."

Notes to Editors:
About Creston plc
Creston's strategy is to build a diversified international marketing services
group through a combination of organic growth and selective acquisitions. The
Board believes that it can identify synergistic benefits between currently
independent marketing services companies offering premium services such as
market research, direct marketing, customer relationship marketing and other
areas of marketing communications. The Board's objective is that each element of
the Group will reflect the continued trend away from mass marketing towards
one-to-one marketing between clients and customers.
Following its repositioning in January 2001 as a marketing services group,
Creston has made four significant acquisitions, which have each demonstrated
growth despite difficult market conditions:
• the acquisition in January 2001 of Marketing Sciences Limited, an
international quantitative and qualitative market research company, based
in Winchester;
• the acquisition in November 2001 of The Real Adventure Marketing
Communications Limited, a national marketing communications company, based
in Bath; and
• the acquisition in November 2002 of EMO Group Limited, a national
channel marketing communications company, based in Swindon and Bristol.
• the acquisition in October 2003 of Nelson Bostock Communications Limited, a
London based public relations agency founded in 1987, which ranks as
the 25th largest UK agency and 10th largest agency in the technology sector
in recent industry league tables.
