Detailed Planning Applications Submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council for Two Major Developments at Slade Lane, Haverfordwest

The Conygar Investment Company PLC ("Conygar"), the property investment and development group, announces that it has submitted two planning applications to Pembrokeshire County Council for the development of its 7 hectare development site at Slade Lane, Haverfordwest.

The site was reacquired from Sainsbury's in 2015 with planning permission for a 95,000 sq. ft. retail superstore and associated petrol filling station.

The two applications propose the following:

1.    A Retail-Led Mixed-Use Development comprising:

·         10 retail units (including restaurants) with a combined floor area of 101,250 sq. ft.

·         A 60 bedroom hotel

·         434 car parking spaces

·         New internal roads which would tie-in to the new roundabout on Thomas Parry Way

·        Comprehensive new landscaping, lighting, drainage and services

2.    A Cinema and Restaurant development comprising: 

·         A 5-screen cinema

·         5 new restaurant units, integral with the cinema building

·         168 car parking spaces

·        Associated services, lighting and landscaping

In combination, the proposed developments would create approximately 460 full-time equivalent jobs, plus 23 full-time equivalent jobs during the construction stage.  Conygar would explore all opportunities to ensure that these employment opportunities serve to benefit the residents of Haverfordwest and Pembrokeshire as a whole.

Determination of the planning applications is anticipated in late 2016 and, if approved, work would start on construction early next year, funded through Conygar's available cash resources.
