                                 AGM Statement


At the AGM of the Company which took place at midday today, Sir David Rowe-Ham,
Chairman, made the following statement:

'As predicted, the opening months of our current financial year have proved
difficult, particularly as to customer demand and operating margins.
Over-capacity in our industry continues. However, the Company has, in past
weeks, experienced a pick-up in orders which should benefit trading in the
pre-Christmas period.'
