Customer wins and key appointment
Corero Network Security plc (AIM: CNS), the network security and business software provider, announces a number of key business wins and the appointment of Ashley Stephenson as Executive Vice President.
Key business wins
Corero Network Security ("CNS") secured 22 new customers during the four months to 30 April 2012 with sales order intake up 25% on the comparative period in 2011. CNS is also seeing an increase in orders and opportunities for its DDoS Defence System ("DDS") launched in Q4 2011, as awareness and the number of DDoS attacks increases.
New customer wins include material orders from Agarik (a leading French web hosting and managed service provider), a leading telecommunications service provider in Italy, Books.com, the largest telecommunication service providers in Europe and South America, a Malaysian state ministry and a leading French retail group. In addition, CNS received material orders from several existing customers including the world's leading online gaming company, the global leader in gases for industry, health and the environment, a leader in online payment processing with offices in the United States, Canada and Europe, and Moneysupermarket.com.
CNS has continued to make good progress in developing an effective channel and has appointed 20 new partners in the four month period ended 30 Aril 2012 (30 new channel partners appointed in the year ended 31 December 2011).
Corero Business Systems ("CBS") secured 68 new Academy and school customers in the four month period ended 30 April 2012 bringing the total number of Academy and school customers to 400, and two new college customers. CBS sales order intake was up 33% on the comparative period in 2011.
Appointment of new senior manager
CNS has appointed veteran IT industry expert and entrepreneur, Ashley Stephenson, as Executive Vice President of the Network Security division with responsibility for CNS's product and solutions strategy.
Ashley has extensive executive IT industry experience in international markets including the United States, Europe and Asia. He co-founded or led several IT companies including Reva Systems (acquired by ODIN) and Xedia Corporation (acquired by Lucent). Ashley has provided strategic advisory services to a number of leading multi-national IT companies including technology vendors, distributors and services companies.
