Corero Network Security plc (AIM: CNS),the network security and business software provider, announces its DDoS Defence System ('DDS') has been named the "Best Security Product and Solution for Large Enterprises" in the Info Security Products Guide, 2012 Global Excellence Awards. 

Info Security Products Guide is the leading research and advisory guide for the information security industry and the Global Excellence Awards are now in their eighth year. The awards honour excellence in every aspect of the information security industry, including best products, people and companies. An international panel of over 50 judges from the information security industry participated and their average scores determined the winners.

Corero's DDS product defends against the ever more prevalent and malicious Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Many of these attacks now occur at the application-layer, quickly exhausting local server resources while going undetected by conventional DDoS detection solutions. Corero's solution is able to detect attacks at the application-layer, thereby minimising risk of disruption to businesses and the associated lost revenue.
