MONDAS PLC
Trading update and contract wins
Mondas PLC, the financial software specialist, announces a pre-close trading
update. In the December 2003 Interim Statement, the Company acknowledged delays
in sales and contractual negotiations. This continues to be the case and whilst
revenue will show growth against the previous year, the Group's results are
likely to fall significantly short of market expectations for the year ending 30
April 2004.
The Group's Banking & Securities business unit, specialising in corporate
actions processing solutions with its product, Radica CAPS, has already achieved
substantial milestones during the year. It has negotiated and delivered against
large contracts such as those from GNI Ltd, Credit Suisse First Boston (Europe)
Ltd and HSBC Bank plc. Whilst negotiations continue with similar large
financial organisations, revenues that were expected in the period to 30 April
2004 have not yet been realised. The directors believe the market for corporate
actions automation remains active and growing.
In the Resource business unit, which provides accounting and business solutions
to the Public and Commercial Sectors, Mondas is pleased to announce new contract
wins at North West Kent College and the London College of Beauty Therapy for its
new Learning Management System (LMS). The success of Resource LMS has partially
offset the increasing competitive pressure within the accounting software
environment. Mondas remains a market leading supplier to Colleges of Further
Education.
The directors believe that the opportunities in the marketplace combined with
its investment in products and delivery capability will enable growth in the
forthcoming year.
The Company expects to announce preliminary results for the year ended 30 April
2004 in June 2004.
