Application has been made to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and
to the London Stock Exchange for the blocklisting of 4,147,605 new ordinary
shares of 5 pence each of the Company ('Shares') under the Costain Group PLC
Savings-Related Share Option Scheme.



These Shares will, upon issue, rank pari passu with the Company's existing
ordinary shares and dealings are expected to commence, subject to allotment, on
22 November 2005.
