Major Road Maintenance Contract



Costain is pleased to announce that Aone+, its joint venture with Colas and
Halcrow, has been awarded a contract by the Highways Agency for the day-to-day
management of motorways and strategic roads in Greater Manchester, Cheshire,
Merseyside and parts of Lancashire.

The contract, worth £158m, is for a five year duration, with work scheduled to
commence on 5 September 2007.



Andrew Wyllie, Chief Executive of Costain, said:



'This contract is further evidence of the success of our 'Being Number One'
strategy which focuses on key sectors. In the Highways sector, we have an
excellent relationship with the Highways Agency, we are one of the nation's
leading road constructors and we have now gained our first significant position
in highways maintenance operations.'
