Costain Skanska JV secures Crossrail framework

Costain, in joint venture with Skanska, is delighted to announce that it has been selected, as one of several contractors, for Crossrail's advance works civils framework agreement, which has a potential value in excess of £250 million and a four year duration.  

A significant proportion of the work within the framework will be carried out close to or over live Network Rail and London Underground assets, including civil structures, underpinning, reinforced concrete structures, service tunnels and shafts, as well as the diversion and protection of existing gas, electricity, telecoms, water and sewerage utilities on the central section of the Crossrail route.

When Crossrail opens in 2017 it will increase London's rail based public transport capacity by 10 per cent, supporting regeneration across the capital, helping to secure London's position as a world leading financial centre, and cutting the journey times across the city.
