In compliance with paragraph 15.15 of the Listing Rules, Coventry Building
Society announces that it has today purchased for cancellation GBP 54,500,000 of 
its GBP denominated Floating Rate Notes issue due 29 September 2004.  There
remains GBP 95,500,000 of the Notes in issue.
