CRANSWICK PLC

Following approval at the Annual General Meeting of Cranswick shareholders held
earlier today, application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the
London Stock Exchange for 19,771,190 ordinary shares of 10p each to be issued
pursuant to the capitalisation issue to be admitted to the Official List. These
shares will rank pari passu with the existing issued ordinary shares of the
company. Dealings will commence in the new ordinary shares on 30 July 2002.
