Death of Director

It is with regret that the Board of Cranswick announces the death of Mike Field,
a non-executive Director of the Company.


Mike Field was a founder of the Cranswick business and had been a Director of
Cranswick since 1974. He was considered by the Board to be the senior
independent non-executive Director. The Board wish to record their appreciation
for the tremendous contribution Mike made during his long association with the
Company.


Jim Bloom, Chairman, said 'Mike Field was an outstanding man and a true friend
to us all, he will be sorely missed and our thoughts and sympathy are with his
family at this sad time'.
