RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES


CRH plc announces that on 8th May 2008 it transferred to participants in its
employee share schemes 73,575 Ordinary Shares at prices between €13.26 and 
€20.91 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 10,275,846 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is
536,951,348.
