RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 18th February 2009 it transferred to a participant in an employee share scheme 131 Ordinary Shares at prices between £15.68 and £18.61 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 16,194,543 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 532,307,835.
