RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES





CRH plc announces that on 2nd April 2008 it transferred to participants in its
employee share schemes 42,292 Ordinary Shares at prices between €12.6416 and 
€18.0084 per Ordinary Share and at £12.04 per Ordinary Share.



Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 8,663,443 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury.

The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is
538,563,751.
