RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 4th June 2008 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 16,528 Ordinary Shares at prices between €14.5652 and €20.91 per Ordinary Share and at £14.37 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 11,420,935 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 536,699,501.
