RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 11th March 2009 it transferred to a participant in an employee share scheme 2,065 Ordinary Shares at a price of €13.2155 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 16,148,004 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 532,354,374.
