RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 25th March 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 241,476 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €13.2155 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 15,792,694 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 684,797,636.
