RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 29th July 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 81,170 Ordinary Shares at prices between €13.0295 and €20.8833 per Ordinary Share and £8.7104 and £14.1386 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 14,859,284 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 692,319,156.
