RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 3rd April 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 35,177 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €15.0674 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 15,651,553 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 684,938,777.
