RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 8th April 2009 it transferred to participants in an employee share scheme 29,943 Ordinary Shares at a price of €11.8573 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 15,621,610 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 684,968,720.
