SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME

CRH plc announces that on 11th September 2008, UBS Limited purchased, on behalf of the Company, 90,453 Ordinary Shares of €0.32 each in CRH plc at prices between €18.438 and €18.95 per Ordinary Share.  The purchased shares will be held as Treasury Shares.  

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 15,285,290 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 532,835,146.
