RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 22nd April 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 47,641 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €15.5646 per Ordinary Share and between £8.7104 and £14.1386 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 15,555,576 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 685,034,754.
