RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 16th December 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 201,685 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.18 and €17.7454 and at a price of £12.9574 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,573,373 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 697,912,547.
