RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 12th November 2008 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 12,506 Ordinary Shares at prices between €10.63 and €13.26 per Ordinary Share and at £9.66 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 16,520,198 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 531,600,238.
