RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 29th April 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 248,779 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.9565 and €16.4830 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 15,267,982 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 685,322,348.
