SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME

CRH plc announces that on 4th July 2008, UBS Limited purchased, on behalf of the Company, 61,906 Ordinary Shares of €0.32 each in CRH plc at prices between €15.947 and €16.30 per Ordinary Share.  The purchased shares will be held as Treasury Shares.  

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,442,520 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 535,677,916.
