RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 30th December 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 43,551 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €18.7463 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,345,854 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 698,140,066.
