RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 31st December 2009 it transferred to a participant in an employee share scheme 6,654 Ordinary Shares at prices of €11.9565 and €16.4830 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,339,200 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 698,146,720.
