RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 9th September 2009 it transferred to participants in an employee share scheme 101,528 Ordinary Shares at prices of €15.5646 and €16.2381 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 14,413,255 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 692,765,185.
