RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 7th May 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 53,877 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €15.5646 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 15,214,105 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 685,376,225.
