RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 11th February 2009 it transferred to participants in an employee share scheme 670 Ordinary Shares at prices of £15.68 and £16.07 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 16,194,674 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 532,307,704.
