RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 28th October 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 1,926 Ordinary Shares at €16.2215 and at £14.1386 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 13,176,526 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 694,001,914.
