RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 24th June 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 4,317 Ordinary Shares at prices of €11.8573 and €15.0674 per Ordinary Share and at prices of £10.0629 and £10.8564 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 14,962,638 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 692,215,802.
