RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES

CRH plc announces that on 21^st September 2011 it transferred to participants in an employee share scheme 5,040 Ordinary Shares at a price of €11.18 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 8,997,673 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.  The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 716,461,379.
