Croda International Plc
AGM Trading Statement - 24 April 2002
Commenting on trading at the AGM, Antony Beevor, Chairman of Croda International
Plc said:
'At the time of our Preliminary Results in February, I commented that the year
had started strongly with sales ahead of the fourth quarter of last year in our
principal businesses.
I am pleased to report sales have remained robust in February and March
resulting in sales in our core Oleochemicals business being at the same level as
quarter one of last year. As a result of a continuing good product mix, the
Oleochemicals trading margin returned to a level in excess of 16% for the period
and consequently trading profits for that sector are also in line with quarter
one of 2001.
For the Group as whole, profit before tax on continuing operations is only
marginally lower than the strong quarter one last year.'
