Croda International Plc announce the appointment of Martin Flower as an
additional Non-Executive Director and Chairman Elect with immediate effect.  It
is intended that Mr Flower will take over the chairmanship of the company at the
end of September 2005 in succession to Antony Beevor who will, as planned,
retire from the Board at that date having reached the age of 65.


Martin Flower, 58, formerly held various senior executive positions over 36
years with Coats plc, culminating in a period as Chairman before his retirement
in 2004.  He is a Non-Executive Director of Morgan Crucible Company Plc and is
Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of Severn Trent Plc.
