Board Changes
Clarity Commerce Solutions plc (AIM:CCS), a leading supplier of software solutions for the hospitality, retail, leisure and entertainment sectors, announces that its non-executive Chairman, John O'Hara, has decided to resign from the Board with effect from 31 August 2009. Sir Colin Chandler, the Company's non-executive Deputy Chairman has agreed to become Chairman on the same date.
John O'Hara became Chairman in 2007, when the Company was underachieving and shareholders had little confidence in the then management. Having recently seen the acceptance by shareholders of the Company's much improved performance under the management team led by Ken Smith, the Company's Chief Executive, John has decided that the communication difficulties and extra costs of having a chairman based in New Zealand are no longer justified.
Commenting on the Board change, Sir Colin Chandler said:
'John has played a significant role in the restructuring and refocusing of the business over the last two years. His knowledge and experience have proved to be invaluable, as have been his leadership qualities, which he has again displayed with his decision to step down and consolidate Clarity's management structure. All at Clarity owe him a debt of gratitude for a job very well done and we are resolved to continue to build on this much improved position.'
