Clarity Commerce Solutions PLC 29 November 2001 Clarity Commerce Solutions plc Major Contract Wins Clarity is pleased to announce the signing of a contract with the Laurel Pub Company for the supply of EPOS, back office, and Clarity Central head office software across their managed estate of 621 houses. The Laurel Pub Company was formed by Morgan Grenfell Private Equity to acquire the former Whitbread Pubs and Bars Division. The implementation of the Clarity system is part of a strategy to improve ways of working for Laurel house managers. Bruce Gardner, managed IT director, states that 'our business plan demonstrates that the new system will deliver measurable benefits across the estate, and importantly, allows our managers to spend more time with our customers.' Work on the software implementation is underway, with a planned roll out commencing in January 2002. The implementation will include deploying Clarity Central across head office users, providing desktop based control of product, pricing and promotional management. The concurrent installation of web based business intelligence tools will give Laurel management easy access to instant information on sales, margins, trends and exceptions. The contract for software and associated hardware is worth £2.4m to Clarity over the next 12 months. Laurel has also appointed Microtrain, the Clarity Group subsidiary, for the provision of roll out and training services, contributing further revenues. Further news from Clarity: Grey Archer have a PC based system that incorporates a complete supply chain for pub tenants and a roll out is planned across 15,000 tenanted pubs over the next five years. Clarity has been appointed by Grey Archer as the sole recommended Epos system supplier for their clients.
