The Board of Directors of F&C Private Equity Trust plc announces that Mr Robert Legget, who joined the Board in 1999, has decided not to offer himself for re-election at the Company's forthcoming Annual General Meeting.

Mr David Simpson, the Chairman of F&C Private Equity Trust, said:

'Robert Legget has been on the Board of the Company since its inception ten years ago and believes that it is now appropriate for him to stand down from the Board to concentrate on his executive responsibilities at Progressive Value Management Limited. The Board will be very sorry to see him go and I would like to pay tribute to the great contribution he has made to the evolution of the Company over the period since it started. He has been a great support to me personally and I and the rest of the Board wish him well.'
