F&C CAPITAL AND INCOME INVESTMENT TRUST PLC
BOARD APPOINTMENT
F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC is pleased to announce that Mr
Pendarell Hugh Kent has been appointed as a non-executive director of the
Company with effect from 22 July 2003.
Mr Pen Kent is currently a member of the Strategic Rail Authority and a director
of Schroder and Co. Ltd. He was formerly an executive director of the Bank of
England, and a non-executive director of NatWest Group and the Commonwealth
Development Corporation plc. He was the first chairman of CRESTCo.
In accordance with Rules 16.4 and 16.5 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing
Authority, outlined below are directorships held by Mr Kent in any publicly
quoted company at any time during the previous five years:

There are no details to be revealed in connection with paragraphs 6.F.2 (b) to
(g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
