Appointment of Chairman Designate

The Board is pleased to announce that Mr. Jonathan Cartwright has been appointed a non-executive Director and Chairman Designate of BMO Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC with effect from 26 November 2019.  After a period of transition Mr. Steven Bates, Chairman, will retire on 31 March 2020.

Jonathan Cartwright is chairman of Blackrock Income and Growth Investment Trust PLC from which he will retire on 12 March 2020.  He is chairman of The Income & Growth VCT PLC and a non-executive director of British Smaller Companies VCT PLC and Tennants Consolidated Limited. He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and thereafter held the role of group financial controller at Hanson PLC.  He moved to Caledonia Investments PLC where he became Finance Director and retired in 2009 after 20 years' service

Save as listed above, no information is required to be disclosed in respect of this appointment under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
