Total Voting Rights and Share Capital


In conformity with the Transparency Directive's transitional provision 6, F&C
Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC is required to notify the market of the
following:

F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC issued share capital consists of
82,191,279 ordinary shares with a nominal value of 25 pence each, with voting
rights.  F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC holds 1,722,011 ordinary
shares in Treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in F&C Capital and Income
Investment Trust PLC is 80,469,268.

The above figure of 80,469,268 shares may be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, F&C
Capital and Income Investment Trust PLC under the Financial Service Authority's
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
