TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

The Board of F&C UK High Income Trust plc announces that on 24 March 2017 the Company purchased 300,000 A shares at a price of 103.0p per A share to be held in treasury.

Following this transaction the Company's issued share capital consists of 102,067,144 A shares and 32,076,703 B shares, of which 14,639,000 A shares and 1,100,000 B shares are held in treasury.  Therefore the total number of shares with voting rights in F&C UK High Income Trust plc is 87,428,144 A shares and 30,976,703 B shares.

The above figures (87,428,144 A shares and 30,976,703 B shares) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, F&C UK High Income Trust plc under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
