       The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC Appoints Non-Executive Director



The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC today announces the appointment of Adrian
Martin as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Martin joins the Board
from BDO Stoy Hayward, where he was UK Managing Partner and Chairman of its
International Policy Board; he remains a consultant to the firm. The group
currently has two Non-Executive Directors, John Gildersleeve and Des Wilson.
