                              PLC board changes

The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC today announces the appointment of Jim Dale,
Chairman of The Carphone Warehouse Insurance Limited as an executive director
of the Board with effect from 9.00am on 30 March 2001. The Group also
announces that Nigel Spray, Managing Director of the Group's Wireless Internet
Portfolio will step down from the Board with effect from 9.00am on 30 March
2001 to focus and develop the Group's Wireless Internet investments.

Jim Dale joined the Group in January 1997. He is a qualified chartered
accountant and is responsible for management of the Group's insurance
operations. Nigel Spray will be leaving the board to focus on the development
of the Group's Wireless Internet Portfolio to take it into a new round of
funding and establish it as an independent global wireless internet fund with
third party investors.

Charles Dunstone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer said:
